Mark A. (Tony) Altermann received his Master in Theatre Arts from the University of North Texas in 1966. He was on staff with the Fine Arts Department of the Dallas Public Library. Altermann has over thirty years experience dealing in fine arts. In 1978, he founded Altermann Galleries, which specializes in 19th, 20th and 21st century western art. Altermann has served as board member of the National Center for American Western Art and the Cowboy Artists of America Museum in Kerrville, Texas and the Dallas Visual Arts Center in Dallas, Texas. He is a former chairman and present board member of the Advisory and Development board of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of North Texas. He has participated in numerous conferences on Western art, including being a panel participant at the Prix de West Invitational which took place at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, Oklahoma City, and speaking at the 2004 Western Design Conference, which took place in Cody, Wyoming. |
